Dog drawing commission...

This portrait has been on the back burner for too long and now that the pose has been approved by the client, I have to place Shayli's portrait aside. This eye close up is of a very interesting breed of dog. I will not reveal just yet...perhaps some of you will guess as the portrait progresses?

This portrait is of a dog named Rilee who recently lost her life to cancer. I had finished this painting for a while but held off putting on my website because I didn't want the recipient to see their gift before they received it. So here it is, my first attempt at pastels on black velour paper.
