"Crown Jewel"-Indian Blue Peacock Painting

Here he is in all his splendor!
Completing a second smaller painting within 2 weeks is not something I am used to so this is really pleasant and somewhat of a relief. However, I better find another subject to paint as I now have 3 peacock paintings hanging in the house...hope to sell some of them at my upcoming fall show.

  2. Colette, what are the Gioconda pencils like? I thought they were of a low grade so I've never ordered them. I'm curious though how they perform compared to Derwents and Stabilos.

  3. Your comments are greatly appreciated Nancy!!
The Gioconda are not the best really for soft suede or velour but work ok on the sandpaper. I fend them harder than most pencils and sometimes have a scratchy, gritty feel to them which I hate. I won't purchase any more of these. BTW, I purchased a set of Derwents and the few colors I used I found too hard...prefer the Faber Castel and Carb Othelo's. Hope this helps.
