Artists for Conservation Featured artist

Seems like forever since my last post here but with social media sites to maintain, it's difficult to update the blog and main websites!! And of course...summer is finally here so lots of yard work to do in the gardens.  I have also been busy creating many commissions, presenting workshops and teaching private students, as well as decorating cakes! Yikes, I need to share so many news! So much more to come but for now...

I thought I'd share that today I am featured Artists of the day at the Artists's for Conservation website!
Here are some screen shot taken from my phone...and why not hop on over at www.natureartists.com and see what this prestigious organization is all about?!

Artists For Conservation 2015 Exhibit Book

With anticipation, I finally received the 2015 Nature in Art Exhibit Book from AFC!

This year, my painting of a snowy egret entitled "Angel Feathers" made the cut and was accepted into the online exhibit. It was not available for the live exhibit in BC because the painting sold several years ago, but nonetheless, was chosen and is now published in this beautiful hardcover. I am so very thrilled and honored to be part of such a prestigious organization!

The Artists For Conservation Festival takes place at Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C on September 27 to October 6th, 2013 and is one of the most highly anticipated events in the nature-inspired art field - AFC's 6th annual juried art exhibit and sale, The Art of Conservation 2014!

The AFC exhibit is the world's top conservation-themed art exhibit and sale. Visit the exhibit for an opportunity to buy original paintings and sculptures. The exhibit will feature over 80 original artworks for sale by over 70 leading nature and wildlife artists from around the world.

Artists for Conservation

I am very pleased to announce that I have been accepted into Artists for Conservation, a respected and prestigious worldwide artist's organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of nature through art.

Being a member of AFC not only allows me to share my love of the natural world's most precious wonders on a more global scale and allow me to connect with like-minded artists, but more importantly, it acts as an influential platform to further promote conservation and education. I am honored to be part of an organization that underlines the importance of preservation as well as the dangers of species extinction through art. Like so many, I am deeply concerned and troubled by the challenges that face the natural world as the earth's environment constantly changes. It is my greatest hope that my work will help contribute to the cause of conservation.

Please take a moment and visit the AFC website at www.natureartists.com and browse through the selection of highly skilled artists. You can view my Artist Profile at  http://www.natureartists.com/colette_theriault.asp

A huge THANK YOU to my artist friends Gemma, John and Danielle for your advice and encouragement in the application process!!
